Advocates

Thank you for your interest in becoming a DiaperFreeBaby Advocate. Advocates support the practice of Elimination Communication and the Mission and Philosophies of DiaperFreeBaby, but unlike Mentors, they do not hold local meetings. Advocates are committed to spreading the word about EC and DiaperFreeBaby.

The process to become an Advocate includes an Application and an Orientation process. Below you will find information on Requirements to become an Advocate, Advocate Responsibilities, Orientation, and the Application. As part of the application, you will be asked to "sign" a formal Agreement that outlines your relationship to DiaperFreeBaby as an Advocate.

Advocate Responsibilities

1. Advocates may volunteer to serve in a variety of ways:

A) Agree to be contacted about local media opportunities to be interviewed and/or work with the DiaperFreeBaby PR Department to coordinate the media opportunity. Advocates will be provided with PR materials in order to prepare for interviews and may be identified as an "Advocate" in a media piece. An Advocate always reserves the right to decline participation in any media opportunity.

B) Present a workshop or an exhibit booth on Elimination Communication and DiaperFreeBaby. Upon acceptance as an Advocate information will be given on how to propose an event. Advocates may be contacted about local event opportunities, but they reserve the right to decline participation.

C) Plan and execute a special DiaperFreeBaby event such as a DiaperFreeDay(TM).

D) Choose a special PR related project such as writing and designing PR materials.

2. Advocates have no minimum time requirements, but are expected to complete any special project that is started or assist in turning the project over to another DiaperFreeBaby Advocate or Mentor for completion. If another Advocate or Mentor is not available to take over the project then the Advocate should update the PR Department on the progress that has been made with the project before stepping down.

3. Advocates will be provided with planning and follow-up materials and will be expected to submit all necessary forms.

4. Advocates must keep in communication with the PR Department through membership on the DiaperFreeBaby PR Yahoo! Group with a minimum setting of special notices.

5. Advocates will be given the opportunity to provide input and collaborate on PR related activities.

6. Advocates may be asked to provide testimonials for DiaperFreeBaby PR use, but will not be required to do so.

7. Advocates are not able to facilitate DiaperFreeBaby meetings or in any other way, directly or indirectly, identify themselves as a DiaperFreeBaby Mentor.
